Brian Elwin Haner, Jr. (lahir di Huntington Beach, California, Amerika Serikat, 7 Juli1981; umur 28 tahun) atau lebih dikenal dengan nama Synyster Gates adalah seorang musisi dan gitaris untuk grup musik Avenged Sevenfold.

Kehidupan Pribadi

Brian adalah anak pertama. Dia mempunyai adik bernama Brent, Johnny, dan McKenna. Ayahnya, Brian Elwin Haner Sr. (biasa dipanggil dengan nama Papa Gates), adalah seorang pelawak dan gitaris professional. Ibu kandungnya bernama Jan. Ibu tirinya, Suzy Haner, adalah seorang ahli hipnotis.

Orang tua Brian cerai ketika Brian berumur sepuluh tahun. Dua tahun kemudian, ayahnya menikah lagi dengan Suzy.

Brian mempunyai seorang pacar bernama Michelle DiBenedetto, saudara kembar dari tunangan M. Shadows, Valary DiBenedetto. Brian dan kekasihnya memelihara anjing yang diberi nama Pinkly.

Brian mendapatkan gitar pertamanya dari nenek dan kakeknya. Salah satu lagu pertama yang ia pelajari adalah lagu Stairway to Heaven karya Led Zeppelin. Ketika Brian duduk di kelas 6, ia sudah bisa menebak chord dari sebuah lagu hanya dengan menggunakan pendengarannya. Setelah Brian diberi gitar, dia mengatakan bahwa sekolah sudah tidak ada gunanya. Nilai bagus hanya dia peroleh sampai ia duduk di kelas 4.

Brian memasuki grup musik Avenged Sevenfold sebagai gitaris ketika ia berumur 18 tahun di akhir tahun 1999. Dia juga memainkan piano pada lagu "Beast and the Harlot" dan "Sidewinder". dan adik sepupunya yang bernama "adridano ridho"

Biografi :

Avenged Sevenfold adalah grup musik heavy metal yang dibentuk di Huntington Beach, California pada 1999. Personelnya terdiri atas M. Shadows (vokal), Synyster Gates (lead guitar), Zacky Vengeance (guitar), Johnny Christ (bass), dan The Reverend (drum). Serta dua mantan personelnya Dameon Ash dan Justin Sane yang telah hengkang dari grup ini.

Album pertama Avenged Sevenfold berjudul SOUNDING THE SEVENTH TRUMPET (2002), disusul album kedua WAKING THE FALLEN (2003). Dalam album kedua grup ini tampil bersama Xl Rose, Kylie Minogue dan Chris Cornell. Disusul kemudian album CITY OF EVIL (2005) dan AVENGED SEVENFOLD (2007).

Grup yang pernah mangung di Jakarta pada 7 Agustus 2007 itu, belakangan memilih jalur musik pop. Hal ini, konon setelah menuai kritik akibat banyak karyanya 'mengadopsi' efek suara yang telah hit sebelumnya. Mereka mengaku heavy metal tidak cocok bagi dirinya, dan lebih menyukai musik pop.

28 Desember 2009, Avenged Sevenfold berduka. Sang drummer, The Reverend atau bernama asli James Owen Sullivan meninggal. Ia ditemukan sudah tak bernyawa di rumahnya, kawasan Huntington Beach.

Drummer Avenged Sevenfold Ditemukan Tewas

Di penghujung tahun 2009, dunia musik kembali berduka. Kali ini kabar duka datang dari band cadas Avenged Sevenfold. Sang drummer yang bernama James Owen Sullivan ditemukan tak bernyawa di rumahnya sendiri yang terletak di Huntington Beach pada Senin (28/12) waktu setempat.

Konser Avenged Sevenfold Padat Penggemar

Kali kedua konser Avenged Sevenfold di Indonesia masih padat dipenuhi para fans yang rata-rata masih belia alias ABG. Mereka rela antri sedari jam 16.00 WIB sore, padahal konser yang dipromotori Java Musikindo bekerja sama dengan LA Light Music ini baru akan berlangsung pukul 20.00 WIB di Tennis Indoor Senayan, Jakarta, Rabu (22/10).

Jibriel Band Buka Penampilan Avenged Sevenfold

Grup band pendatang baru, Jibriel Band, rencana akan menjadi band pembuka dalam penampilan grup band dunia, Avenged Sevenfold. Acara konser musik ini akan diadakan di Tennis Indoor Senayan, Jakarta Selatan, pada tanggal 22 Oktober mendatang. Band yang salah satu personelnya adalah putra rocker legendaris, Ahmad Albar, Fachri Albar, tersebut mengaku sedikit gugup satu panggung dengan musisi dunia.

JAVA Musikindo Gaet Angels and Airwaves

Di tengah persiapan konser Avenged Sevenfold yang akan digelar di Tennis Indoor Senayan Jakarta pada hari Rabu (22/10) mendatang, dengan band pembuka Jibriel, JAVA Musikindo kembali menandatangani kontrak dengan musisi asal Amerika Serikat, Angels and Airwaves, untuk konser di Indonesia.

Kabar buruk bagi para penggemar Avenged Sevenfold di negeri Paman Sam. Band cadas ini terpaksa membatalkan rangkaian tur konsernya di Amerika karena sang vokalis, M Shadows, kehilangan suaranya.
